What do I need for my online class?
A sturdy chair to start, then continue with chair, barre, or countertop
A space about 4’ x 6’ (non-carpeted is best)
An electronic device connected to the internet with the free Zoom app downloaded.
A few minutes before class, open the confirmation email with the Zoom link to join. First time to class? please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that we may get acquainted and comfortable with set-up.
Turn your camera on, and “pin” Annemarie for the best viewing experience.
What do I wear?
Some students wear leotards, tights, and skirts to class. Other students wear yoga pants and tank tops.
If you choose to wear ballet slippers, I recommend a full-sole slipper for better balance.
Alternatively, jazz shoes, “teacher” sneakers, socks, and bare feet are possibilities.
Wear things that make you feel good!
What should I expect?
We begin with a series of unique coordination exercises for mind and body wellness, mostly in a seated position.
We then practice safe yet engaging ballet exercises that develop strength, posture, grace, and musicality. First at the ballet ‘barre’ and then in the ‘center’ or across the floor.
We explore repertoire from select grand ballets to contemporary works and learn an adapted choreography.
